For Her

Flowers. Conventional wisdom says flowers always work. Face it, flowers do work. It's a rare lady who will say no to a bouquet of 12 champagne roses. The only downside is people tend to stare at a guy carrying flowers. People do stare at a girl with flowers too, but that's what she wants, so that's okay. Obtain at your friendly neighbourhood florist or order online.

As for what flowers, we'll soon have a guide on what giving each different type fo flower means, so watch for it.

Chocolates. Even weight-conscious and diet conscious ladies swoon at the sight of Godiva pralines and other melt-in-your-mouth chocolate bits. Thought to be an aphrodisiac, a well thought out gift of suitably tasty bite sized bittersweet chocolate will make her think that much better of you. Choose from a choice of dark chocolate, mild chocolate, white chocolate with any number of fillings from nuts to caramel.

Lingerie. Try to find out her vital statistics by whatever means possible. If unsure, overestimate. She'll be happier that you think of her as a 34C than a 36 A. Getting lingerie does assume that you do know her more intimate needs and wants. Try to avoid excessively kinky stuff. Get her something elegant, stylish and sexy and you might be rewarded to see her wearing it, and only it.

Jewellery. Diamonds are a girl's best friend. The bigger, the clearer, the better. Set in platinum on a beautiful pendant, a string of 0.1 carat diamonds strung on a bracelet, a 2 carat princess solitaire set in platinum, these will have almost any lady weak at the knees and swooning. Downside is the cost tends to be quite high, and giving a 2 carat princess cut solitaire does often imply some form of commitment.

Soft Toys. A nice cuddly teddy bear that she can hug to sleep. Something cute, not something with huge fangs and coarse skin that'll chafe. We recommend a 21 inch bear from Hallmark's Forever Friends collection, dressed in a smart tuxedo with no pants.

Dream Vacation. Sweep her off her feet and whisk her to some exotic sunny land where both of you can sip margaritas by the golden sands and turqoise waters by day and enjoy romantic candlelit dinners on your very own terrace by evening. We recommend the Banyan Tree Phuket, which also boasts an award-winning spa which will strip her, rub her down and leave her feeling relaxed and radiant.
